The increasing focus on 'personalised learning' has given David the opportunity to re-visit his writing and research on pedagogy and staff development.
Policy
David has been asked to give a number of presentations recently on policy issues. This is a keynote presentation he gave at the 20th Anniversary of the National Centre for Educational Development Research in Beijing, China October 2006 on 'Educational policy for school transformation'.
Assessment
As the Chief Adviser on School Standards at the DfES in the UK, 2002-2005, David had a significant influence on assessment policy. This presentation given at the Bank of Italy in January 2007 summarises the key developments during that period and his views on how policy should continue to evolve.
Classroom Research
David has been a long time advocate of classroom research by teachers. This recent presentation to a group of leading practitioners reflects his key ideas on the topic.
